Stella McCartney presented her Spring 2013 collection in the most unlikely of places—the garden behind a funeral home on Second Avenue. But the event was a total celebration—replete with a brass band, carnival games, lemonade stand, tasty treats and cocktails in mason jars.

Models hung out amongst the crowd, played games and boogied with the band. Said crowd included Anne Hathaway, Amy Poehler, Jim Carrey, Lauren Hutton, Greta Gerwig, Emily Mortimer, Solange Knowles, Marilyn Minter, Helen Marden, Anna Wintour and Andre Leon Talley. And of course, P’trique, our favorite fashion viral sensation, was in attendance wearing a floor-length Grecian gown.

As for the collection, we can look forward to lace, leopard and a bit of fringe. Patterns get their fair share of play with an emphasis on florals in pinks and blues. —The Archive

Taking a cue from Christie’s crushworthy post on Elle Fanning, I wanted to shine the spotlight on another celebrity kid sister who is giving me a major case of style envy, Solange Knowles.

High waisted shorts, full skirts and round sunglasses somehow seem to evoke a young, modern Diana Ross (if Diana wore cut off Levi’s and lived in Brooklyn). And even though the items in the younger Ms. Knowles’ rotation are decidedly girly, she somehow manages to mix and match creating a look that is sexy and feminine without being overly sweet or slutty. She combines vintage, modern and ethnic inspirations in a way that is not only genuine, but also seems timeless.
Looking perfectly at ease in the front row of Paris fashion week, bike riding in Africa, exploring flea markets with her son in Brooklyn or simply luxuriating on a yacht in the Mediterranean, she always dresses with practicality slipping glamour into the details.
And don’t even get me started on her hair. Let’s just say, I’m a sucker for a girl who isn’t afraid of her curls.
